Summarizing what Powerhouse has meant to me is an impossible task. What I can express also recounts that which I cannot say. Memory, only as precise as the moment of recollection, lives in the present. So, I can say that Powerhouse, and later La Centrale, has been like an underground stream nourishing the hair-like roots of my creative practices. It is the place where I have made mistakes, acquired my second language, formulated a politics of the everyday, branched into interdisciplinary art practices of writing and curating, and learned that feminism is plural, transformative and full of humorous contradictions.
