was a work created for the Contemporary Sound Sculpture exhibition curated by Gayle Young at the Art Gallery of Algoma, Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, 1991. The front side of the sculpture has a pencil drawing of the inner ear directly on the plywood with a text that reads: SPEAKING ONE’S OWN HEARING. On the back hangs a plastic picture frame with the text: 8 ½ x 11 all purpose frame and the words ‘cartesian anxiety’ applied in Letraset to the front of the glass. In the exhibition, fractal images rotated on the back panel. A tape loop hidden in the sculpture offered sounds from my daily routine: a mixture of street noises, voices and music
