This large-scale drawing started an exploration of what I called multiple subject positions – the private self, the student, the artist, with metaphorical aspects of my perceived context – all in the same drawing or series of drawings presented as panels of the same work. The fragmented nature of its presentation represented a further breakdown and dislocation of wholeness.
