Memory comes into consciousness when triggered by something familiar and distant. Between 2000 and 2003, I continued exploring how to make visible my interest in lived experience and interlocking structures of knowledge. In this period, I employed rescued paper (UTLAS) card catalogue cards that were being discarded. Using this material underscores notions of collecting and cataloguing together with ideas of concrete structures being rendered obsolete.

These varied works, all small-scale, write an autobiographical or broader social component onto the pleasure of looking at 3”x4” cards marked by stains, fingerprints and a material witnessing of the passage of time.
